Review of the NRS Networks and Specialty Groups: patient and public survey

Review of the NRS Networks and Specialty Groups: patient and public survey

16th December 2019

The Chief Scientist Office (CSO) is seeking the views of patients and the public as part of the continuing review of the NHS Research Scotland topic-specific support infrastructure.

NHS Research Scotland Topic Networks and Specialty Groups facilitate the development, set up and completion of health and social care research studies across Scotland, improving the quality and quantity of studies available to patients within their therapy areas.

As part of a review of the existing support infrastructure, CSO is seeking the views of patients and the public who have been part of clinical research, on their experience interacting with the networks and specialty groups.

A survey asks 10 key questions around this experience, and how this interaction can be optimised to deliver a comprehensive and supportive experience to those taking part in future clinical trials.

Responses from this survey will help inform a review panel to advise CSO on future options, with this panel scheduled to meet early in 2020.

Any responses from the survey will be anonymised before consideration by the panel. The survey will remain open until Thursday 23 January.
