NHS Research Scotland (NRS) and Scottish Health Innovations Ltd (SHIL) are seeking to recruit a Graphic Designer to support the delivery of the communications strategy for both, through strong creative outputs which help position NRS and SHIL as leading contributors within health research and innovation in Scotland.

Grade: 5 (£22,440 pro rata)
Working pattern: Part-time 17.5 hours per week
Contract type: 12 months fixed term contract

Main tasks

  1. To work flexibly across two brands – SHIL and NRS to build the brands of two key players within health research and innovation
  2. Design innovative marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, adverts, event stands, case studies, conference posters, infographics and presentations
  3. Improve creative outputs across digital platforms including website, social media and apps
  4. Work across multiple jobs simultaneously, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines
  5. Support the scheduling, timeline and approval process for creative outputs
  6. Enhance media library and resize, touch up or edit images as requested.

Key responsibilities/accountabilities

  1. Generate innovative ideas for visual content across our communication platforms
  2. Create visual content to support NRS and SHIL marketing campaigns/ events        
  3. Ensuring accuracy in all visual content used in NRS and SHIL marketing materials.

Key interactions/interfaces

  1. Work with colleagues to enhance marketing material, website and other digital platforms
  2. Offer creative input to the team      
  3. Liaise with external print suppliers.

Person Specification   

Education & Qualifications

Essential:

  • HND in Graphic design or related creative discipline

Desirable:

  • Bachelors degree in graphic design or related creative discipline

Experience

Essential:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Published design work with examples available   

Desirable:

  • In-house design or agency experience
